Yes Mommy Can

Family Care Solutions is committed to encouraging teen mothers to pursue higher education. We believe that with proper guidance, support, and resources, young women can be empowered to pursue their dreams of going to college with baby in tow.

Beginning September 2010

FCS is developing a new program, Yes Mommy Can (YMC) Mentoring and Summer Residential Program for promising teen mothers and their children. Beginning September 2010, YMC will provide academic and personal support to encourage teen mothers to stay in school, graduate and pursue higher education. Teens will learn the importance of pursuing a postsecondary education and the impact a college degree or professional certificate has on future earnings and family stability.

Matched with FCS program graduates and other professional women with children, teens will find support from those who've experienced and successfully graduated from college or currently enrolled in college while caring for a family.

FCS will partner with Harcum College to offer teen mothers an incredible opportunity to experience college life with their children while learning and participating in campus activities. Harcum College is a small nonprofit two-year institution located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. It is located approximately ten miles outside of central Philadelphia. The school is well known for its allied health sciences. This includes nursing, clinical laboratory technology, occupational and physical therapy, phlebotomy, dental hygiene, animal center management, and more.
